It was the end of October and it was bitter cold, but Amanda's family snuggled close and we made some beautiful photos for the walls of their home.
Kids typically run the show at a family session, it could go either way. I have a few suggestions.
- Throughout the day, tell your kids, "We are going on an adventure with Amanda." "We are going to have fun and play games with Amanda." Make the photo session a reward rather than asking them to behave at the session to earn a reward.
- Before you come to your session make sure everyone has had plenty to eat.
- Let your kids be silly and have fun. This is often how I capture their beautiful personality. Avoid scolding them during the session and definitely avoid asking them to look at the camera, smile or say cheese. It's important to me to make this a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.
